What’s up y’all?! Hope you like the new blog!
This is just a place for you to come and read my thoughts, comments. (or complaints) …Yes, there’s a few of those too. But not today! Today I just wanna share what’s on my heart with you guys.
Over the past month, I’ve been examining, pondering, and praying about creative ways that I can share the Gospel with others, and live out the purpose and calling God’s put on my life. After a few late nights staying up trying to figure it out, I was at a loss. - But I knew 2 things were true.
1.) There’s a need for the Gospel
2.) There’s a need for the Gospel locally, and globally!
About a week later, I was explaining to my lovely fiancee that I would love to be able to travel and share Jesus with others. The next morning I got a text message from one of my best friends, Nolan. He began to share with me his desire to travel, and use photography as a way to minister to others. It was UNDENIABLE that this was a total God thing! We started brainstorming, and began to pray through everything.
After several conversations and a couple phone calls we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do.
We want it to be Christ-focused. And we want to excite other believers about the gospel, and encourage them to bring it to the people who don’t have a personal relationship with God.
That’s where we got the idea to do a conference centered around these ideals. We came up with the name “The Beautiful Feet Conference”
A LITTLE MORE INFO…
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
(Romans 10:14, 15 NIV)
The Beautiful Feet Conference exists to:
* Encourage the body of Christ to run with beautiful feet (Romans 10:14, 15)
* Empower the body of Christ by providing different resources and outlets to assist in sharing the message of Salvation.
* Engage the culture in which we live. (John 17:13-18, Romans 12:2)
* Enlarge the body of Christ by fulfilling the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20)
While the focus of the conference is not strictly urban, it is geared more toward bringing the Gospel to urban areas. MATTHEW 5:14 says ”You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” As the body of Christ, if we are to truly embrace this title and responsibility we have to start from within our cities and let the light of Christ shine out into the world.
THE GO INITIATIVE
In MATTHEW 28:18-20 Christ commissions His people to GO and make disciples of ALL nations. (including their own) Nolan & I, along with our friends Patrick and Troy are planning a trip to go to South America this Summer to begin putting all of this together. We’re going to be documenting the things that we see and encounter as we bring the love of Christ to the people of South America. In order to do this we need your help getting there! We’ve determined it’s going to cost somewhere around $6000 ($1500.00/person) for all 4 of us to go. That includes travel & food. It is our hope that you prayerfully consider partnering with us on this adventure, not only monetarily, but spiritually and physically as we walk out in faith the purpose that God has placed on our lives. I’ve added a giving widget to the right. All proceeds go directly to our paypal account. If you’d like more information about any of this feel free to email us at info@thebeautifulfeetconference.com
In Christ,
